On May 17, 2023, we released EuroLinux version 8.8. It retains compatibility with Red Hat® Enterprise Linux® 8.8. The EuroLinux 8.8 repositories have been expanded to include Python 3.11, Nginx 1.22 and PostgreSQL 15. Among others, several packages have been updated, such as: Git 2.39.1, Git LFS 3.2.0, Valgrind 3.19, SystemTap 4.8, Dyninst 12.1.0, Elfutils 0.188, PCP 5.3.7, Grafana 7.5.15, GCC Toolset 12, LLVM Toolset 15, Rust Toolset 1.66, GoToolset 1.19.4. The Linux kernel was updated to version 4.18.0-477.
XeroLinux has released a new version with several important changes, including the resolution of KDFONT issue, an updated Arch Kernel to version 6.3.2, and the fixing of most PipeWire USB Headphones issues. The new release now uses the Catppuccin theme and style for everything and features major under-the-hood performance optimizations for KDE Plasma. The QT has been updated to the latest version, 5.15.9, and KDE Plasma, KDE Frameworks, and KDE Gear tools have also been updated to their latest versions, 5.27.5, 5.106, and 23.04.1, respectively. During the installation, Memtest86 will be removed due to an ongoing issue with Grub, and a fresh install is no longer required for existing XeroLinux users.
The NuTyX 23.05.0 and cards 2.6.7 release note contains a comprehensive list of updated packages, including new toolchains such as gcc 13.1.0, glibc 2.37, and binutils 2.40. Additionally, it includes updated versions of several desktop environments, including XFCE 4.18.3, MATE 1.26.1, GNOME 44.0, and KDE Plasma 5.27.5. Other updated applications include Thunderbird 102.10.1, Gimp 2.10.34, and Libreoffice 7.5.3.2. NuTyX also ships with Long Term Support (LTS) kernels, ranging from 4.14.314 to the latest stable version, 6.3.2. Escuelas Linux has released version 8.2 with updated applications and important bug fixes, showcasing a polished and beautiful environment to run both educational and general purpose software. The release includes popular applications such as Audacity 3.3.2, Blender 3.5, GCompris 3.2, Google Chrome 113, Kdenlive 23.04, IBM Java 8.0-8.0, LibreOffice 7.5.3, Mozilla Firefox 113, and Wine 8.7, among others. The release also offers an optional Developer Pack 8.2 with updated environments for C, C++, Java, and PHP development, including Android Studio Flamingo 2022.2.1 and Eclipse IDE 2023-03. The release fixes several bugs, including issues with GIMP, KTorrent, Xterm, UXTerm, Avogadro, Pencil2D, Kdenlive, and GCompris, among others.
Version 5.2.4 of EasyOS Kirkstone series was released on May 4 with some significant updates for version 5.3. The two major updates in the release notes are the change in ext4 folder encryption from fscrypt v1 to v2 and significant improvement in the Flatpak Installer (Flapi). However, the upgrade to fscrypt v2 means that encrypted folders created before 5.3 will no longer be accessible. Therefore, users who have encrypted folders and enter a password at bootup must download the 'easy-update' script before upgrading to 5.3; otherwise, the update will break the installation.
The AlmaLinux OS Foundation is proud to announce the general availability of AlmaLinux OS 9.2, code-named 'Turquoise Kodkod'. The new version of the system also introduces a variety of improvements to the web console (cockpit). The Linux kernel has been updated to version 5.14. Key security-related highlights: the OpenSSL secure communications library was rebased to version 3.0.7; SELinux user-space packages were updated to version 3.5; Keylime was rebased to version 6.5.2; OpenSCAP was rebased to version 1.3.7; SCAP Security Guide was rebased to version 0.1.66.

The "mini" version is only 1550 MB and is suitable for running the system super fast from RAM with just 2GB of memory. The system comes with Refracta Snapshot pre-installed, which allows users to create their own live installable Ubuntu 22.04 system with ease. ExTiX 23.5 uses LXQt as the desktop environment, which is a lightweight, modular, and user-friendly environment that is suitable for older UEFI-enabled computers and VirtualBox/VMware.
Parrot Security has just released the latest stable version of their security-focused Debian-based distribution, Parrot OS 5.3. This third installment in the Parrot OS 5 "Electro Ara" series features a newer long-term supported Linux 6.1 LTS kernel, bringing a performance boost and making it possible to install on hardware where it wasn't previously compatible. Additionally, Parrot OS 5.3 includes ready-to-use virtual machine appliances for both 64-bit and AArch64 architectures. Although the developers have not yet shared a full list of new features and improvements, Parrot OS 5.3 is packed with all the latest updates and security fixes, ensuring an extra layer of security and performance.
